additve chair - Graphite Bristol Board 11” X 14” March 2010 The object of this exercise was to “build” a chair piece by piece by adding different components together. First, a cube was drawn to display the total volume the chair occupied. Then, one component at a time, drawing the different volumes and refining the objects added to the chair. I did not erase the guide lines to show the purpose of the drawing. Otherwise it is just a contour line drawing of a chair.
contour chair - Graphite Bristol Board 11” X 14” January 2010 The object of this exercise was to show the curvature of a chair by using only contour lines. This chair is one solid piece of plastic, so the curvature of the chair was not easily noticed with out the contour lines.

The face was laid out using classic Greek proportions, and drawn by the non-dominant hand. The drawing is to reflect the inner character of the artist. Nude Male - Charcoal, India Ink Drawing Paper 24” X 36” December 2009 The object of this exercise was to create an abstract background using India ink and modify a drawing to incorporate the background with the drawn figure. I lucked out in that the abstract background did not interfere with the figure too much.
Graphite Bristol Board 11” X 14” January 2010 The object of this exercise was to show the way light reacted to different shapes and the shadows they cast. The snow on the ground produced organic shapes which allowed for atmospheric perspective to give the drawing depth
Room with a View - Graphite Bristol Board 11” X 14” February 2010 The object of this exercise was to experiment with two forms of perspective within a drawing. The focal point of the one-point perspective becomes the focal point of composition. Atmospheric perspective is used across the horizon line to the left. The view is looking over a forest and water

Food Chain - Colored Pencil, Marker, Construction Paper Drawing Paper 24” X 36” November 2009 The object of this exercise was to choose a controversial topic and create an original piece of art demonstration my position. The topic I chose was vegetarianism. I feel that having a man dangling over farm land holding on to a chain that spells food attached to cow carcasses displays my thought.
