Diamond

I thought about stereotypical forms of jewelry and was caught by the diamond which is a strong symbol require embellishment and whom has a history of darkness, but as well as thoroughly visualizes light in an extraordinary way. I wanted to create something that arouses thoughts about this gemstone and communicating this with the viewer and user.

I chose to go ahead with a ring whose shape is based on a rectangular silver plate, bent into a stylistic form of a diamond. The ring is open to create an exciting form with the negative space in the meeting point, easily manufactured and have wider spectra of fitting. The opening in the ring can be symbolically seen as human rights violations where the circles not closed.

In the top of the diamond shaped ring a triangle shaped Swarovski stone is placed to look as a diamond imitation that symbolizes the diamond industries sort of Slavic conditions like in the old Egyptians time.
