Job Description
PEGA D&E (www.pegadesign.com) is a product design consultancy and a subsidiary of Pegatron, the spun-off DMS ( Design, Manufacturing & Service) arm of Asus Computer, one of the world's leading technology companies.
PEGA D&E is based in Taipei & Shanghai, and succeeds the Asus product design department (www.asusdesign.com) which was founded in 1998 and has gradually gained international recognition after winning numerous design awards in recent years.
PEGA D&E is comprised of talented individuals coming from different industries and backgrounds around the world. Their specialties include market analysis, consumer research, interaction design, product design, branding strategies, visual planning, material & color research, mechanical and electronic engineering. PEGA is also working on the creation of non-IT products and advanced design studies.
The PEGA design team in Taipei wants to get a fresh view and bold ideas from a new generation of international designers and expend its global vision. Therefore - for the seventh year in a row - PEGA is looking for students to join our International Design Internship Program.
Ideal candidates are product design students, at least in their 4th year, highly motivated and creative team players, demonstrate strong conception and sketching skills and will be able to join our growing Taipei-based design team in an internship that will last from the beginning of August 2013 until the end of July 2014.
Candidates will both work on more conceptual design studies, as well as on regular projects to get hands-on experience and to bring ideas to life.
PEGA provides a suitable financial package, will pay for a round-trip-flight to Taiwan and collaborates with AIESEC (www.aiesec.org) to organize working visa and to enable a quick cultural integration. In addition, PEGA will financially support classes in Mandarin Chinese for interns that wish to study the language.
Skill —
- Quickly and effectively communicate concepts via free hand sketch.
- Be able to render concepts in 2D/3D.
- Be able to use professional software to build up concepts. Familiar with Pro-Engineer is a plus.
- Explore and conceptualize design alternatives (drawing/sketching, thumbnails, meetings)
- Professional software skill
