Job Description

General Purpose
CMD Senior Designer promotes the Nokia brand by creating user centric product design with human approach. Focus is on driving CMD exploration, development and execution relative to the field of Colour & Material Technology Design on Product. Provides CMD specifications that meet specific portfolio needs and drivers. Understanding of design context, competitor landscape. Partners with Industrial Design. Drives and Leads small projects.

Main Responsibility Area
Understands and follows documented best practices. Has specialist knowledge in the area of Colour, Material Technology Design and one cross functional competence area. Identifies solutions to non-standard tasks and queries. Interprets customer needs assessing the full requirements. Knowledgeable of Nokia's product development process. Acts as a source of expertise to others, drives and contributes to discussion in own area. Is responsible for a defined portion of a larger project. Is expected to solve design problems relative to CMD independently by using their/her knowledge. Learns and practices Nokia's product development process.

Individual portfolio
Typically 4-6 years relevant experience, fully competent. Uses functionally specific knowledge.

Key competencies and experiences
Passion for Colour and Material Technology Design. Has delivered projects and products to the market, Has gone through the process from concept to reality and is capable to repeat and improve the process. Can lead a small team / Project in a specific effort and report on the results. Work is impacting project/projects and other teams around him / her.

Environment
Performs day-to-day activates to meet departmental/project objectives. Is capable of working with minimal supervision to meet objectives and implement design on their Own. Applies commonly recognised concepts within their field of expertise. Shares knowledge with less experienced peers or have high collegial interaction. Raises innovative ideas.

Participates as individual contributor to team, usually with limited professional expertise. Variety of complex tasks within area of responsibility, Demonstrates initiative & contributes to problem solving. Acts with independence and discretion in routine matters.
