Description:
The Head of MP ID heads up Nokia’s Mobile Phones ID Teams within Nokia Design. The Head of MP ID is accountable for the competitiveness of Nokia’s MP ID strategy and solutions in terms of cultural leadership, relevance, quality, cost effectiveness and speed of delivery.

Main responsibility area:
The Head of MP ID interfaces with - and inputs to - high level portfolio planning and development functions within the MP business.
She/He is accountable for the development of the MP ID strategy in alignment with the Nokia Design’s overall strategic goals - in particular UX Design - and overall MP strategic goals.
The head of MP ID is accountable for the operational excellence and consistency of the MP ID team’s deliverables (quality, relevance, speed).
Furthermore the Head of MP ID is accountable for:
the quality of collaboration between the MP ID team and related functions within Nokia Design and the MP Business, Portfolio, Product Development and Markets teams
the development of the technical and soft skill development within the MP ID team.
Goalsetting within MP ID (IIP), performance evaluation (PE) and compensation approach

Environment:
The head of MP ID is a member of the Nokia ID Leadership Team and a peer to the Head of SD ID (Smart devices Industrial Design) and Head of FD (Forward Design).
The position of the head of MD ID has a high degree of independence, generally influences policies, targets and budgets.
She/He provides direction and sets expectations for the creation of new business opportunities within the sope of the Mobile Phones Business and develops ideas and strategies for building customer/consumer relationships.

Scope:
The head of MP ID manages the entire MP ID team in Beijing. The role of the Head of MP ID is a role with global scope and BRIICA (Brazil, India, Indonesia, China, Africa) focus and encompasses accountability for the ID of the entire MP devices portfolio (15 + devices annually, with an expected volume of around 300 million devices sold annually).
The Head of MP ID contributes to and influences direction, policy and strategy of the MP business, She/He determines resource allocation, the team’s operational framework and makes final decisions on operational matters.

Impact:
The head of MP ID has significant impact on the entire MP device portfolio. While accountable for all deliverables of the MP ID Team the Head of MP ID is expected to focus on medium to long term impact on her/his own and related expert areas and on business results with a global scope.
The Head of MP negotiates goals, project scopes, work processes and fundamental agreements on the scope of responsibility and ways of working of the MP ID Team. He/She ensures a business unit relationship and overall environment which is motivating encourages innovation and is inclusive.
