Graphic Designer - Front End Web Developer

Job Description

We are looking for a front end web developer and graphic designer hybrid. Skills more on the design side are acceptable so long as you have a basic understanding of JavaScript, CSS and HTML. We have a core group of developers who think they can design, but really, they can't. That's why we need your expertise.

We get things done during regular work hours, so no need to keep a toothbrush here. What kinds of things do we get done, you ask? Our core business is magazine publishing, so a lot of our work is devoted to support that, which is still a very successful business for those of us who adapted and survived the "paper-apocalypse". We develop and maintain internal web applications as well as over a dozen public websites, all of which also help to support our annual trade show, one of North America's largest for B2B.

And then for something completely different, our experience with planning events and our love for the web led us to start up the Breaking Development conference (http://bdconf.com). If you're not familiar with it already, Breaking Development focuses on new and emerging techniques for web development and design for mobile devices. We get people from all over the world in one kick-ass venue and geek out for a few days over the bleeding edge as well as things you can go back to the office and use today.
