We’re looking for an amazing and passionate CMF Designer to join our team in NYC.

You are a talented CMF designer. You know how to get shit done, not to mention it’s done well. You are a dreamer and a futurist. You hold yourself to extremely high professional standards, while engaging in a fun, collaborative environment. You have helped designed successful products that have been sold worldwide. The Job

As our CMF Designer, you will

Be a member of Quirky’s Product team, reporting directly to Quirky’s Head of Engineering, Research & Development
Contribute your talents to create Quirky’s growing collection of game-changing consumer electronic products
Be a part of a growing movement to make invention accessible

The Responsibilities

Working with the Product Design team to create incredible and innovative products, managing CMF input from concept to final production
Lead CMF development providing strategic CMF advice across our existing and expanding portfolio of products
Create and present trend research and new material explorations
Inspire Quirky design staff and the community with your ideas and process
Travel when needed to lead the team and suppliers overseas and domestically

The Qualifications

BA or equivalent in product design or a related field of study
6+ years experience as a CMF designer
Possess outstanding CMF ideation and development skill
Have a sophisticated aesthetic and a knack for creating surprising moments
Ability to implement user research and community feedback into your design work
Ability to be a creative catalyst and ‘light a room on fire’ with your energy
Experience designing with a wide variety of materials and processes
Ability to multi-task many projects and products at once
Excellent communication skills (concise, accurate, and effective)
Must be comfortable interacting with and presenting to the Quirky team and Community
A basic understanding of 3D modelling
Familiarity with KeyShot and Advanced skill level with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
Have an entrepreneurial spirit and thrive in a fast-paced environment
