Footwear Design Intern

Job Description

Join us for an exciting internship opportunity at Timberland LLC as part of the Design team in Stratham, New Hampshire. In this role, you will:

Responsibilities:
 Work with a senior level Designer to present footwear concepts per seasonal product briefs.
 Assist in completing CAD revisions, color updates, technical packages, graphics, prints, and trim details.
 Coordinate and maintain seasonal materials, color standards, and presentation boards.
 Gather relevant trend and consumer information for the product category.
 Follow Designer's lead on seasonal themes and apply/extend concepts and color to a variety of styles.
 Gain valuable experience through collaboration with the Design and Development teams on molded details, construction, pattern, costing and fit as it relates to footwear.
 Fluent in Illustrator and Photoshop programs, preferably on a Mac environment.
 Strong sketching and renderings skills to communicate concepts and ideas.
 Ability to work in a fast paced environment with cross-functional teams and handle multiple tasks
Qualifications:
Education: BA /AA –Focus: Industrial design or degree in Art/Design
Years of experience: 0-3
Computer skills/applications: Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator/Acrobat/Mac environment
Other: Some footwear design experience is a plus (past internships/school work)

Internships run for 6 month terms with four design interns on campus at all times. The cycle of these internships is as follows:
