The GLAM Designer position reports directly to the Creative Director. You will be working across our consumer products for desktop, mobile, and tablet. You will help explore future versions of our applications as well as design improvements to interfaces and elements for our current products - ranging from GLAM (Fashion, Beauty, Lux), Foodie, Bliss (Health & Wellness), tend (Parenting), and Brash (Men's). You will assist in planning out user experience concepts, developing final visual designs, and production design as needed - collaborating with our engineering teams. Naturally, the interface design work will blend consumer experience models, content publishing elements, and advertising in new and innovative forms. You should possess a degree of graphic design, media interface design or similar and either representative school portfolio projects or work experience that promotes a comprehensive knowledge of user-interface design and visual design.
Our Editions platform powers our successful, consumer iOS apps we have in the Apple iTunes App Store. You will work on that team to support the ongoing creation of our Edition apps - helping prepare artwork and content for our different monthly edition releases as well as get involved in the evolution of the platform and work with the UI designers to explore and design new features.
The Global Design Group plays a core role in defining and designing the apps and the product-ecosystem for GLAM as well as the user-experience throughout. A combination of useful "utilitarian" applications as well as editorial-based "editions" are core application platforms and apps that are all driven off a core desktop social discovery experience that allows consumers to sift through content coming from more than 5000 bloggers. Our designers also work to define and design our advertising products to integrate rather than interrupt the consuming experience.

What's great about you
You should have a Bachelors degree in one of the visual design/arts fields (graphic design, media design, UI design) and 2-3 of years experience working in the user interface design industry. In addition, you will need a portfolio that exhibits your excellence in the field (quality not quantity) - illustrating your understanding and practice of user-model design, storyboarding, wire framing/prototyping, and visual interface design. You are knowledgeable of and well-versed in major design software applications (Photoshop, OmniGraffle, Illustrator, etc.)
