Senior Visual / Graphic Designer
You’re looking for a unique opportunity – to work where you can push beyond the typical and really engage with the design process. Lux is not your everyday design firm. We seek to illuminate brands by designing experiences, not just brochures, logos, and websites. Lux designers get to work on projects that span all types of touchpoints and mediums, while also offering up their own unique expertise. We’re looking to grow our small but fierce team with creative minds who have a passion for meaningful, intuitive and beautiful design.
What we love:
An active voice who is willing to participate in and spur constructive, honest critique… and is receptive to it too! You have great taste in design, you know the difference between “ok” and “amazing,” and you’re passionate about learning about each client, their goals, and delivering excellent design.
Someone who pushes himself or herself creatively and can own their vision from conceptualization to implementation… but remains openminded to change. You’re able to stay “on brand” but also explore new territory in the name of offering up the best.
A manager of day-to-day resources, designers, and vendors assigned to your project with conscious accuracy. You’re a stickler for details and you think thoughtfully through the stages of each project so that you can communicate best with you team. Which leads us to….
A team player. You thrive in a collaborative environment and inspire others to participate. You have strong verbal, written, and visual presentation skills and understand how to engage in a relevant, personal way with each client.
An enthusiastic creator who builds from the ground up without waiting for excessive direction.
An advocate for your craft – a person who is active in the design community, seeks out and shares opportunities, and stays curious about the latest and greatest in the design industry, resources, and design software and tools.
What you need to have:
Experience managing design projects and leading designers in achieving project goals.
Confidence in all phases of a project, from ideation through creation of production-ready design work. Expert use of InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop. An understanding of visual design across mediums including print and web. Our wishlist includes knowledge of AfterEffects, storytelling video, and interest/experience in creating interactive design elements. A stellar portfolio of design work with a high understanding and sense of color, balance and typography. An educational background in Design or Media, (or the professional equivalent.) Professional experience must demonstrate strong graphic and communication design skills!
What YOU want:
A studio that has a truly diverse client list – a place where you’re learning about various industries all the time and will never get bored.
The opportunity to build brand new processes and act as a chameleon – you don’t fall back on one style or one way of approaching design. You’re willing to change it up and find inspiration in new places.
To get your hands dirty. You know that prototyping can be as valuable as the finished product and want to sketch, make, hack, and express your vision along the way. You also look beyond the typical mediums to approach your designs when the opportunity arises.
What to send us:
To apply, please email the following to: email@example.com

An example of good design versus great design (that is not from your own work).
Include visuals and critique. This can be submitted in any format.
