Job Description

In this role, you will be a member of the Incase Brand Marketing Team. You will lend your knowledge and experience to create, implement and oversee communication programs that effectively describe and promote Incase and its products. You will work closely with Senior Management to understand and establish criteria needed to structure consistent communication, both internally and to Incase consumers. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing the preparation of media, consumer and retail communication material, aiding in the development of presentation speaking points and brand messaging geared toward internal and external parties, and provide supervision and communication direction to staff. Lastly, you will serve as the lead contact for all brand messaging as it pertains to media relations and support PR efforts (internal/external) to achieve goals consistent with Incase company objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities -

Corporate Communications:
- Establish and implement communications structure, standards, protocol and procedures for the organization
- Work to refine and integrate corporate messaging throughout the organization
- Provide writing assistance to other departments as needed and ensure consistency in company messaging
- Support company communications needs on an as-needed basis

PR Media and Consumer Communications:
- Lead for online, web-based consumer communications
- Primary contact for all endemic media and consumer relations
- Managing the flow of projects and communication with PR agency
- Lead communications support for PR agency
- Creative copywriting for a wide variety of creative deliverables including media
- Proofreading and editing for a wide range of deliverables
- Pre-press support for all print-based Marketing collateral
- Prepare and distribute news releases for product launches and other noteworthy brand activities
- Facilitating product fulfillment for media requests and Incase’s PR agency
- Develop and distribute public relations materials including but not limited to: Media Kits, Press Releases and corporate correspondence
- Tracking relevant media and reporting results to internal audiences
- Maintaining the Incase press list
- Facilitating product flow to opinion leaders, trendsetters and key industry influencers
- Keep record of the aforementioned “opinion leaders and trendsetters” for frequent seeding initiatives
- Working with members of the senior team to facilitate and prepare for interviews with media representatives
- Developing productive relationships with key media target audiences
- Managing event projects as tasked while attending and leveraging brand presence at said events

Product Centered Communications:
- Ownership of final product copy decks
- Maintaining a product launch calendar to ensure all necessary copy and tools are generated, approved and sent out to necessary parties prior to launch dates
- Managing additional outsourced copywriting services when necessary
- Partnering with internal teams to create and deliver product copy including but not limited to seasonal messaging, collection stories and feature lists
- Regularly meeting with internal teams to keep abreast of new product developments

Qualifications & Skills Summary:
- 5+ years experience in marketing, media relations, PR agency and project management
- BA in a Communications-related program
- Proficient in MS Office and iWork
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills are required
- Familiar with Bacons, Burrelles, VMS and other media sourcing platforms
- Working knowledge of written style guidelines such as the Associated Press Style Guide or Chicago Manual of style
- Strong presentation skills and comfortable speaking in public
- Ability to interpret and repurpose a wide range of data and consumer insights into consumable/media-friendly outreach
- High level of attention to detail
- Experience with facilitating short and long lead press initiatives
- Self-motivated and creative
- Ability to develop strong relationships with advanced human relations skills
- Ability to juggle multiple projects while meeting demanding deadlines, producing high quality work and projecting a positive attitude
- Willingness to work outside normal business hours when necessary
