Principle Design Manager - Global Personal Care
Principle Design Manager to fiercely lead the Global Design, Design Strategy and Visual Identity for multiple Personal Care brands (potential brands are Old Spice, Gillette, Olay body, Camay, Safeguard, Secret, Ivory). This stable of brands represent some the the most iconic Global brands in Personal Care. Within the P&G portfolio, this also includes our very first brand as a company, Ivory. This Principal Design Manager will lead the evolution of our Global Brand Identities and package design initiatives. You will also create and champion holistic experiences (from product, packaging, identity, retail and innovation). Personal Care is a very dynamic and fast paced, global organization where you will see your design enter global markets and improve lives around the world.
As an integral member of a multi-functional team, you will focus on leading and shaping of the Brand Expression and deliver product initiatives for multiple Personal Care brands. Responsibilities will include:
Leading Global Visual Identity and Expression for multiple Personal Care brands (from Design strategy through to execution) with multiple outside agencies (Design firms, Advertising agencies, In-store Agencies, Digital Agencies).
Translating deep consumer insights, cultural trends and Beauty Trends into meaningful, global design solutions that meet key business objectives.
Building cooperative relationships, passionately leading and championing design with cross-functional colleagues.
Leading projects from concept creation to design realization in partnership with our award winning design firms.
Inspiring, leading and growing the capability your creative team (internally and externally).
Collaborating with fellow Beauty Design Managers and Brand Expression Leaders to action best-in-class Design.
Education: BA/BFA in Graphic Design and a portfolio demonstrating clear design experience (strategy and execution). You must demonstrate solid hands-on design mastery proven by work executed in market.
Experience: 10+ years experience in Design, Brand Identity and Packaging. Beauty experience is strongly preferred.
Passion: We are seeking an individual that has passion for delighting consumers and making everyday amazing ideal candidate needs to have a strong passion for Design, Beauty, trends and fashion and an ability to integrate that knowledge into their work.
Leadership: Strong leadership skills with proven experience to effectively bring the design strategy to life while fully understanding the business needs. High influential skills are needed to work with business team and gain management support.
Organization: This candidate must show reactivity, an ability to set priorities, be accountable, grow capability in a Design team and successfully navigate project complexities to lead the work from conceptual start to final design delivery. This candidate must also have a good track record with leading and inspiring a team of internal and external creative's. Your resume and portfolio needs to exhibit how you have achieved great design through your team, your agencies and out the door to the consumers.
Communication and Collaboration:
This position requires a written and a verbal communication style that is clear, concise and effective across functional and geographical/cultural boundaries. You must be highly collaborative, with proven experience in teaming with, influencing and enrolling multiple functions within the business, as well as other external partners. This candidate must be comfortable with a matrixed Design team and flowing to the work.
Agility: This role requires the ability to adapt quickly, learn on-the-go and thrive in a fast-paced environment of constant change.
Software Expertise: Software expertise in the latest graphics and business programs: Adobe CS (PShop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat) and MS Office Suite.
