The College of Creative Arts at Massey University is a world-class art and design school based in Wellington, New Zealand with a legacy of over a century of creative education. The College is currently comprised of a School of Design and a School of Fine Arts, and our new School of Music and Creative Media Production will take in its first cohort of students in 2015.

The College is not only ranked 11th by RED DOT, the international design awards agency, giving it a distinctive seal of quality, but is also the first art and design school outside North America to be awarded “substantial equivalency” by the US accreditation body NASAD; the most comprehensive international benchmark for art and design education in the world. In addition, the College ranked number one in New Zealand for design and visual art research in the 2013 New Zealand government Performance Based Research Funding round.

The College provides a thriving, well resourced and inspiring learning environment that fosters research, scholarship, enterprise and creative practice. From selected entry to completion of their degree, students are equipped with a knowledge base and skill set that enables them to flourish in the creative industries, win awards, represent New Zealand and hold key positions that define creative thinking in businesses around the world.

The College of Creative Arts is seeking to extend its activities in design entrepreneurialism/enterprise, design thinking and applied design research. We are looking for three driven and innovative members of staff to respond to extraordinary external demand for expertise in these areas.

Applicants should have an exceptional academic or professional background in Design, or a related field.

Applicants are expected to have a postgraduate qualification in design and and a strong record of recent research. Proven ability to access external research funds would be an advantage as well as an ability to forge links with industry.
