Brand Art Director
We are looking for a talented Art Director to curate and style our products on-site and for marketing initiatives. You’ll use your sense of style and understanding of fashion and design trends to ensure that our products are presented in a dynamic, branded, and appealing way. This unique role builds on traditional visual merchandising and extends into the styling and art direction of both virtual and physical goods. Responsibilities include styling photo shoots, directing digital composite images, and working with product to craft visual concepts that resonate with a sophisticated consumer.
As a part of the Brand team, you will help bridge the efforts of the Content Design and Marketing teams. Your closest ally on the Marketing team is the Merchandise Strategist, who will provide the analytical consumer insight to your innate understanding of visual trends and product styling. On the Content Design side, you’ll work with the Content Director to understand the context of our art and products themselves. This role will take creative direction from the Director of Visual Design and Brand and work closely with the Editorial Director, and Brand Designers.
Develop a visual rhetoric for merchandising and styling Paperless Post products, including physical and digital goods alike. Select products and assets for digital composite images and photo shoots.
Work with Brand Designers to develop visual creative for marketing assets on-site, marketing emails, and other marketing touchpoints (catalogs, etc.).
Help coordinate quarterly off-site photo shoots for online assets and a semi-annual print catalog. Coordinate in-studio photo shoots as necessary for one-off online assets.
Work with Merchandise Strategist to translate user insights into visually appealing and high-selling on-site content promotion.
Work with Content Design team to oversee how products should be grouped and packaged
Research how industry competitors are displaying products
Pitch content for editors’ picks sections onsite
Well-developed and sophisticated visual style
3+ years experience in styling and art direction—preferably in the paper, editorial, or fashion industries
Experience working with marketing teams and an understanding of marketing initiatives
A deep understanding of marketplace trends, especially in consumer design and fashion industries
Experience coordinating photo shoots, styling photos, and sourcing props a big plus
Passion for good design and paper goods
A proactive and collaborative work ethos
Fluency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign preferred
