Peet’s has grown over the past 48 years and we are currently in an extremely exciting time of expansion. We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and dedicated Senior Designer/Art Director to champion creative for our internal Creative Services group that provides creative solutions throughout the company.
The ideal candidate is an exceptional designer, with strong conceptual skills, excellent design acumen, strong leadership skills, and one who thrives in a fast paced environment.

Overall Function:
The Senior Designer role will report to the Creative Director as part of the Creative Services team, producing outstanding and innovative creative across all channels of the company. Key areas of responsibility include strong conceptual thinking, strategy, and exectution of brand and marketing programs. Creative efforts include seasonal, product, and new market campaigns within retail, grocery, e-commerce, store design, and cross functional brand initiatives which are comprised of interactive and traditional print media. Both print and digital design experience is essential and it is imperative to be able to toggle back and forth between them seamlessly. The Senior Designer will be a gate-keeper of the Peet’s brand and will be instrumental in continually shaping and evolving the brand.

Creative

• Art direct photoshoots, including all upfront planning
• Design towards specific audience segments
• Design for both print and digital platforms (with ability to press check)
• Ensure brand consistency in all creative efforts
• Collaborate with other creative team members (copywriters, Creative Service and UX designers, Brand & Marketing teams, and cross channel leaders)


Leadership
• Display leadership and inspire teams by providing and promoting excellent quality of work, creative exploration and innovation
• Take ownership and initiative in leading projects
• Mentor and direct other designers
• Define, evolve, and become an expert on the brand look & feel, personality & tone
• Utilize and share best practices and innovative creative solutions from the competitive landscape
• Present creative to clients with authority and expertise
• Strong understanding of current technologies

Essential Qualifications:
• Minimum of 8 years of experience as a designer for consumer brands and campaigns in an agency or in-house creative department
• A portfolio displaying exceptional strategic, conceptual, and visual design
• Efficient in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Powerpoint, Microsoft Word, Excel
• Experience in retail branding and the food & beverage industry is a big plus
