Furniture Designer - Indoor Division
The FOREMOST design team is looking for a talented individual who is passionate about furniture, innovation and work ethic. FOREMOST is a North American Company with offices in the US, Canada and Asia. We design and manufacture quality furniture that is functional and on trend for mass retail markets and specialty channels. The key role of this designer will be to support and assist the PD team in developing innovative furniture concepts, research and concept preparation for mass retail channels. This person will work directly with the Product Design & Development Manager.
Market trend research and creation of unique designs for mass market and specialty channels.
Produce 2-D and 3-D renderings with photo-realistic qualities using 3D software and or hand rendering skills.
Ability to read and comprehend RTA and fully-assembled technical drawings.
Produce client appropriate designs.
Work quickly and efficiently on multiple projects.
Professional and clear communication with design team and sales teams in the US and Asia.
Bachelors Degree in Industrial Design or Furniture Design or relative field.
1-4 years experience.
Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, 3D Max, Solidworks, Sketchup, Photoshop, Illustrator and MS Office Suite.
Knowledge and experience in traditional, transitional, contemporary and modern design.
An important aspect of this position is having a discerning eye for design and ability to convey concepts with accurate proportion, scale and style.
Must be self-motivated and able to work in a collaborative fast paced environment.
Occasional lifting and assembly of furniture products is needed.
Proficiency in written and spoken English is required.
Potential travel in US and Asia
