Visual-Information Design:

Works with and contributes to the evolution of a brand guideline or visual-information language system to translate the intended user experience to act as a guide for the user. The visual language initiates and maintains intended user behaviors, evokes intended emotional reactions, enables comprehension and insight, supports decision making, builds trust, and leaves users with a positive experience when interacting with our products and services.

The discipline of visual design communicates and explores choices of photography, typography, layout, color and style to support brands and the intended user experiences though artifacts such as mood boards, high & low fidelity mockups, prototypes and specifications. Visual and information design in our context at Watson Health also includes interactive data visualization and the design and presentation of complex information and data to enable user comprehension, insight, and decision making.

Possesses an attention to detail that establishes recognizable patterns for the user and also for the implementation team. Responsible for establishing design patterns to facilitate independent, correct choices that will inevitably be made by the implementation team.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Must be able to clearly communicate concepts to the other members of the team through drawings, models, and descriptions
- Must have experience with and knowledge of emerging technology
- Must have experience facilitating discussions and presentations for both working and delivery purposes with a moderate to significant level of stakeholder interaction
- Must have experience successfully negotiating and evolving the design with stakeholders
