UX Design Technologist
The Product Communications & Design department at Bose is looking for a passionate UX Design Technologist looking to create new and compelling digital experiences. Our creative group creates customer-facing communications for site, social and online advertising building brand affinity and educating consumers about new products. The ideal candidate is a digital native with a strong passion to push boundaries and co-workers to create engaging experiences that are customer-focused and show our obsession with details.
As a UX Design Technologist you combine the best usability, design and development expertise into an integrated creative approach. While technology is the lens in which look to solve communication challenge, your ideas will always have a customer benefit and purpose, not simply technology for technology sake. In this role, you would be a strong advocate for the customer keeping their goals and experiences in mind. Through research and iteration, you tell dynamic, interactive stories and design unique solutions that are compelling, have purpose and address real needs of customers and our brand.
Working closely with creative teams, you will be responsible for developing multiple visual elements in a responsive global web environment (Bose.com and more) as we engage with customer through brand initiatives, product launches, and new ecommerce initiatives. You will draft, develop, prototype, test and iterate on innovative UI/UX solutions that blend design, technology, strategy, and customer value, to push the envelope and inspire development teams and decision-makers to invest in new ideas. Success depends on close partnership with strategists, researchers, designers, developers and outside partners to guide work from an interaction design and development perspective and ensure our work is successfully executed.
Skills and Qualifications
5-8 years of relevant experience working as an Interaction Designer, Technologist, Creative Coder, Front-end Developer, UX Design Engineer, or related profession.
Experience with Adobe Experience Manager
Experience working in a mobile-first environment, building for responsive design
Cross-browser, cross-platform, and cross-device compatibility skill set
Ability to assess the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
Good presentation and communication skills
Good understanding of basic design principles and typography
Excellent ability to work collaboratively with IA/UX/Design
High awareness of and an innate desire to explore and test new platforms, technologies, and trends for the digital channel.
Ability to solve problems with instincts and experience.
Working knowledge of the latest design software
Samples of relevant work including mobile site work
industry trends and technologies with regards to front-end development.
