Loud Technologies Inc. (MACKIE, AMPEG) is currently looking for an Industrial Designer with a passion for the sound industry. As a member of a friendly team of engineers, marketers and audio geeks, the industrial designer will bring analytical skills and proven design experience and close collaboration with brand managers and engineers to define, conceptualize, refine, and release best in class pro audio products.

 Collaborate with marketing, brand managers, mechanical engineers, acoustic engineers, electrical engineers, project managers and contract manufacturing to ensure timely releases of products.
 Conceptualize new product offerings based on brand vision and product requirements through hand sketches, rendering, physical models, CAD models and other design tools that facilitate presentation of designs. This could include user research, market research and consumer trend analysis.
 May conceptualize, develop and create UI/UX wire frames and pixel perfect files for the software team.
 Refine designs and create CAD models and prototypes that develop the design language and functionality.
 Manage vendors, source materials and evaluate feasibility of designs. Release design to manufacturing.
 Partner with mechanical and electrical engineering to develop documentation that fully communicates the design intent to manufacturing.
 Responsible for First Article Inspection of parts and final assemblies and changes based on DFM reports or contract manufacturer feedback.
 Travel to international contract manufacturers and vendors.

 Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, wood box construction, sheet metal fabrication, and injection molding. Understanding and hands-on knowledge of manufacturing processes required.
 Ability to be self-motivated and able to manage time effectively while working on multiple projects at the same time.
 Proven knowledge of 3D surface development within a CAD program. SolidWorks, Adobe CS suite / Illustrator, ProEngineering, Bunkspeed Visualize and MS Suite.
 Experience in CAD rendering and document control software in Agile preferred.
 Ability to communicate effectively with core design competencies: sketching, 3d visualization and modeling.
 Effective interpersonal and communication skills dealing with a divergent set of stake holders. Experience communicating directly with off shore manufacturing is a plus.
 Strong problem solving skills.
 Passion for the Pro Audio industry highly desired.

 BA/BS design degree from an accredited program
 Minimum 2-5 years of proven design development with emphasis on creating products.

 Travel outside the USA may be required.
 Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
