3D Designer Spaces & Experiences

Location: Atlanta, GA Posted: Apr 19

Job Description

3D Designer with a focus on spaces and objects enabling leading customer experiences at an integrated experience innovation firm.

Details:
InReality helps brands reinvent customer interactions in real-time, in-venue. We are looking for a dynamic designer to help design spaces and objects using next-gen technology. We are looking for an individual with a passion for design and an understanding of design in a commercial setting. If design is "just a job," then this position is not for you.

The successful applicant must have a portfolio that transcends a demonstrated career of knowledge, possess a high level of understanding for industrial design and customer experience, and possess the skill set and design ability to take on high profile and complex design challenges. This position requires a skill set to work with various stakeholders within the organization. Exceptional design talent is a must to be considered for this position. You will have the ability to guide projects from research participation through the concept and detail development stages, and you must be adept at verbally expressing your ideas in an enjoyable manner. What is most important, though, is that you truly enjoy participating in the creation of world-class innovation while working with an outstanding multidisciplinary team. This talented individual will be able to hit the ground running, require minimal supervision, illustrate storytelling with classic skills of great sketch technique, and possess a high level of proficiency in the latest 2D and 3D software applications. A thorough understanding of manufacturing processes used in retail design and the ability to work on scales as small as hand held products and as large as commercial environments is beneficial. A firm understanding of branding and its manifestations in multiple user touchpoints is required.

Requirements:
- BA/BS degree in Industrial Design from an accredited institution required.
- 5+ years of experience in a consulting or corporate design environment.
- Superb visualization, organizational and communication skills.
- Transformation of design ideas & implementation using traditional hand sketches, 2D digital illustrations and high-level 3D solid and surface modeling software applications.
- Proven skills to motivate and inspire other designers to create and deliver high quality deliverables including working with multicultural teams.
- Exceptional interpersonal and presentation capabilities
- Strong project and time management skills with a proven ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously in various phases of development.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively apply strategic design thinking together with brand attributes on individual programs in context to the bigger picture within the organization.
- Proficiency with: 3D Solid Works, Rhino 3D, and Adobe Creative Suite CC software applications are preferred.

Designing for Service Experiences:
Today’s users and customer are looking for amazing experiences, wherever they go. Effective design is more than just hardware, it is thinking and defining the experiences – so customers can enjoy meaningful and emotionally positive interactions with a brand or an environment. This is where the design process starts at InReality. Designing the customer journey is the first, and maybe most important step of a responsible design process – the actual design of physical or digital touchpoints follows suit.

Designing for Reality:
Many times, designers oversee projects all the way to production, or at least have a shared responsibility. Having an understanding of production methods and an interest to actively partake in budget discussions and pricing activities is imperative for lasting success.

Integrating Design Disciplines:
If you are passionate about the experience (service design) as well as things and environments (industrial design), and if you are interested in integrating both of these disciplines in a meaningful and effective way – welcome! We are an open collaborative team, and we don’t expect you coming in knowing everything, but we love a strong desire to learn and grow!

Active Communications:
3D Designers at InReality contribute directly to client communications. Communicating design always starts with the “why” – the functional aspect of each communication element.

Is it You?
We are looking for somebody who can work effectively in a dynamic multi-stakeholder environment and is not afraid of the “fuzzy frontend,” that part of the project where there are more questions than answers. We are looking for a seasoned team player with 5+ years of experience, with a consultancy and/or design background.

If all that sounds fascinating to you – please send your portfolio and CV to jobs@inreality.com
