Job Description

McDonald's is in the early stages of major, digitally-lead initiatives and the Design and Innovation team is at the center of these aggressive changes for the business. The team actively designs, develops, and supports the implementation of important and highly visible initiatives that deliver customer-centric benefits and business growth.
This role will enable better customer experiences at McDonald’s restaurants worldwide through the design of customer service interactions. Success in the role requires strong expertise in several of the areas of UI and graphic design, ecommerce, human factors, design research, prototyping and usability testing as well as the ability to lead design initiatives in partnership with cross functional teams and outside
resources.

Principal Accountabilities: 
Interaction design excellence
• Ensure human-centered approach to customer interactions
• Elevate role of UI design and usability across teams and departments
• Provide Subject Matter Expertise consulting to area of the world teams
• Maintain fresh understanding of outside resources and supplier talent to ensure high-caliber results at the best price, cultivating strategic partnerships and deep relationships with thrift and finesse
• Core interaction design capabilities, exhibited in wireframes, documentation, and prototypes
• Strong ability to think visually and guide visual designers as it pertains to visual language decision and rationale
• Strong knowledge of HCI and UX literature, current standards, best practices, and emerging technologies
Design research capability
Design-appropriate process models for prototyping and simulations
Usability testing
Supplier management

Education/Experience

• Human-centered design (research, concepts and prototyping, design)
• Project management methods
• Minimum 4-6 years' work experience in UI design related field
• Experience in assembling and leading design efforts, including internal and external resources
• A strong portfolio that demonstrates design and strategic thinking, as well as core interaction design skills across a variety of project categories - e.g. websites, software applications, interactive installations,
• touch/voice/gesture-based interaction models.
