Job Description


Safdie Architects is seeking an Interior Designer / Interiors-focused Architect with exceptional creatively and ingenuity to join their design practice.

Interior Designers work directly with Moshe Safdie and the firm’s Principals to develop interior concepts that are informed by the design of each project which range from incredible diversity, in terms of typology, scale and geography. The Interiors-focused designers are embedded within the architectural teams and are expected to manage multiple project assignments concurrently.

Candidates should have demonstrated experience in preparing design presentations, materials and finish boards; exposure to interior documentation and millwork detailing; and in the selection and specification of furniture and materials for FF&E procurement.

Candidates must be highly motivated and have the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Assist with the growth and maintenance of the current materials library;
• Excellent visual and verbal communication skills;
• Expertise in AutoCAD and Adobe Suite required;
• Proficiency in Rhino, REVIT and experience with BIM strongly preferred;
• Accredited professional degree in Interior Design or Architecture;
• All applicants must have the authorization to work within the United States;

Headquartered in Somerville, MA with offices in Singapore, Shanghai and Jerusalem to support ongoing projects.

Current work in design and construction includes the National Medal of Honor Museum in South Carolina; a residential tower in Manhattan; medical education and research facilities in São Paulo, Brazil; a hospital in Cartagena, Colombia; workspace interiors for an office headquarters in Singapore, and mixed-use developments in Saudi Arabia, China and Singapore.
