Are you a designer with a LOVE for TOYS? If so, we are expanding our Design team and have several openings that may align with your experience and career goals!

Reporting to the Design Director, the role requires creativity to design exceptional innovative products for the Tech Toy space. The scope of this work includes all aspects of design – conceptualization, immersive play pattern development, 2D and 3D design, vendor management, costing analysis, presentation, and collaboration. This person will also take on managing outside design talent and oversee model development in North America as well as our model shop in China.

Key Responsibilities:

- Drive innovation through product brainstorming and ideation
- Owning creative vision and developing immersive play patterns to deliver the best consumer experience
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team of tech, app, and electronics development experts to evolve and implement new tech platforms
- Development of 2-D assets, CAD models and oversight of 3-D model making for product concepts
- Understand and apply future trends in design, technology, and materials
- Present proposals, early concepts, detailed designs to varied audiences, including sales team, executives, VCs, and others
- Liaise closely with Marketing, Engineering and other centers of excellence/shared services across the global organization
- Some travel may be required to support developments

Skills & Experience Requirements:

- 5+ years’ experience as a Hard Goods/Consumer Goods or Toy Designer is required
- Proven ideation, brainstorming, sketching and concept rendering, are essential
- Background developing play patterns, UX, and/or UI are an asset
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Sketchbook Pro
- Strong proficiency in 3D CAD and rendering programs such as Solidworks and Keyshot
- Ability to make and/or oversee the making of models and prototypes
- Technical knowledge in materials and manufacturing processes
- Technical knowledge in mechanics and electronics
- Assist in the overall design development of multiple products
- Ability to adapt and shift priorities under challenging timelines
Flexible with changing priorities, and unexpected changes
- Must be a resourceful, self-starter, who knows how to get things done independently
- Experience developing electromechanical interactive items is an asset
- Passion for tech or robotics products is a plus.
- Portfolio must be provided
