We are seeking a designer with current cosmetic or skincare beauty brand experience. Our interview process involves a two week freelance trial from our Park Avenue South office in Manhattan. The ideal candidate is a highly talented and motivated individual with experience in graphic design, packaging, marketing collateral, visual merchandising, print, and digital design.

Using our established brand guidelines as your compass, you will support Commodity's Senior Designer for the day to day production and output of all packaging, printed collateral, email campaigns, social media and other creative needs by our marketing and executive team. You will implement marketing strategies through the design and development of print, packaging and merchandising, as well digital communications for all Commodity product categories.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate excitement and flexibility for working across a wide range of projects and output types as well as a curiosity to explore new directions and methods of execution. You will work both independently and collaboratively at varying capacities.

Responsibilities:
Design and develop print assets such as mailers, invitations, signage, marketing collateral, departmental presentations etc.
Design and develop primary and secondary packaging components, with minimal guidance, that meet consumer, brand, customer, and manufacturing.
Design promotional packaging (gift set boxes, sleeves, texture items) for all product categories.
Create creative assets for landing pages, e-blasts, banners, retailer.com brand pages, social media and special projects
Understand and apply Commodity’s style and guideline requirements to all creative projects.
Adhere to Commodity’s standards and processes.
Coordinate all photography and copy needs associated with creative briefs and campaigns.
Fulfill artwork requests and misc. creative needs - logos, images, etc.
Product photography experience a plus

REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Graphic Design or related field
Creative background with 2+ years of graphic design or related experience in the beauty industry
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign) and Microsoft Office
Strong sense of typography, color, layout, composition and design
Knowledge of prepress, color matching/retouching, offset and digital printing
Strong understanding of social media
Detail-oriented, team player, focused and highly organized
Excellent communication skills
Proactive, flexible, go-getter with strong collaborative skills
Ability to work five days per week from our NYC office at 28th and Park Avenue South
