Job Description

NiCE is looking for an Art Director to join our team. The ideal candidate is a strategic visual communicator with 7-10 years experience and well versed in brand expression and complex packaging design, including the store environment.

-Demonstrates design leadership in bringing meaningful ideas to life.
-Manages and leads client communication beyond initial briefing, cultivating relationships with the client group.
-Participates in client presentations and collaboratively develops the projects' deliverables and timelines with team's Creative Director and Project Coordinator.
-Understands and contributes to the development of strategic brand positioning and ensures strategic intent is met throughout the design process.
-Demonstrates the ability to visualize strategic intent.
-Understands and contributes to the development of brand identity systems and leads brand guideline development.
-Provides inspiration and direction to ensure high quality execution from a team that brings to life the creative brief, co-developed with the Creative Director.
-Reviews and curates design directions from the team, and makes recommendations to the Creative Director.
-A category thought leader, stays in the know on category developments, competitive news, trends and opportunities.
-Develops and prepares initiative presentations and partners with the Creative Director to develop brand presentations.
-Demonstrates problem solving and design thinking to deliver quality solutions every time.
-Understands clear scope and deliverables based on client briefs, partners to assign tasks. Where appropriate, delegates tasks and responsibilities to team members to optimize use of resources.
-Fluent in industry, category and professional terminology.
-Reviews and checks work before work leaves the studio in partnership with Creative Director.
-Must have full understanding of the print production processes and category specific print technologies.
-Pro-actively monitors and improves the design process. Takes ownership over the quality of the team's contributions.
-Responsible for bringing in the Creative Director at key junctures for input and approvals

-Advanced design skills with a focus on expanding skill set into new categories, brands or categories.
-Expert knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite.
-Demonstrates quality and versatile aesthetic with a high taste level.
-Can locate and curate outside resources (photographers, illustrators, typographers) as needed.
