The Fashion Development Manager is responsible for defining, delivering and communicating the overarching fashion vision and strategy for the Chicco USA brand, ensuring our product fashions support the Company’s overall image, strategy and goals. This person delivers the fashion needs on a wide range of children’s products, utilizing research on fashion trends and knowledge of product, consumer and customer requirements to ensure our collections feature winning color combinations and textile constructions. Collaborating with cross-functional team members throughout the entire product development process, this role sets the standard for textiles in quality, innovation, aesthetics and value.

• Oversees the fashion development of all collections for the Chicco USA brand, identifying fashion trends and integrating those that best align with Chicco’s overall image and style
• Manages internal resources for generating and disseminating all collection specs
• Manages fabric development across all product lines, working with external suppliers in the ideation of fabric construction and determining unique characteristics including yarn type, color, finishing, pricing and other criteria to create customized fabrics for the Chicco brand
• Partners with external resources to collect intelligence, material, reporting and competitive analysis
• Oversees preparation of all product fashion samples
• Serves as key spokesperson to customers regarding overarching fashion trends and direction for Chicco USA, participating in line reviews and other customer-facing meetings
• Works directly with customers to execute final decisions on collection products
• Manages color utilization and optimization, driving color and brand consistency across products and collections
• Ensures that quality standards are met for all fabrics and their applications
• Moderate domestic and international travel

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of experience in fashion, ideally with application to consumer products
• Well-developed sense and awareness of fashion, materials, color, texture, and cuts
• Ability to evaluate fashion and design ideas based on factors such as aesthetics, materials, budget, and customer & consumer needs
• Technical experience in fabric and color development from ideation through production
• Attuned to fashion trends with the ability to forecast and sell concepts
• Marketing experience with an understanding of consumer products development
• Comprehends “Commercially Acceptable” fashion for consumer products
• Extremely organized with a strong attention to detail
• Proactive and self-motivated, working well under deadlines with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Cultural sensitivity with ability to effectively interact with international partners to create and grow business relationships
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with both internal and external partners
