Strategic Writer: Brand Strategy Team

As a strategic copywriter, your role focuses on content creation and curation targeting
healthcare professionals. You’re a trained storyteller highly skilled at developing compelling content and impactful marketing strategies.

Collaborates with integrated marketing team to identify, recommend and create content that deepens audience engagement and moves them along the buying funnel
• Partners with other content creators to identify, acquire and curate reusable content
• Identifies the right content and cadence to align with business strategy and positioning
• Knows when to challenge the relevance and viability of content under consideration
• Creates and adapts content to best suit target persona and behavior

Key accountabilities

• Strategic planning:
 Demonstrates a clear understanding of business objectives and collaborates with stakeholders to ensure they show up in output
 Seeks opportunities to help the team and client with the creative brief
 Works with brand and positioning authors to translate outcome to foundational messaging documents
 Works with strategy-side stakeholders to demonstrate how their positioning might come to life through content
 Helps author positioning language
 Understands the brand well and writes content in the Medline brand voice

• Content development:
 Asks questions and carefully reviews all information from clients and AE
 Translates the creative brief into marketing-oriented copy/creative direction
 Works with designers and other visionaries to develop and present copy from concept through to final layout form
 Manages written content from conceptual stage through final production
 Simplifies and clarifies complicated medical concepts
 Crafts well-written “stories” that connect with target audience and motivate action
 Able to change course or adjust ideas based on new feedback and guidance
 Collaborates with designers to connect content with relevant visuals and design
 Ensures work is error free before printing or publishing
 Advocates for ethical practice in making claims and promises in content

• Research and information gathering:
 Dogged researcher and translator of insights into simplest, most compelling form
 Driven to gain deep understanding of markets, audience needs and product lines.
 Always learning: Whenever possible, gets out in the field with customers, reps and sales marketing team to develop deeper understanding and knowledge of the market, customer challenges and desires
 Uncovers barriers and objections to purchases and integrates resolution into content authoring

• Project management:
 Works proactively, against long-term marketing strategies to develop content in accordance with editorial calendar well in advance of release date
 Able to complete projects within tight time frames, ensuring delivery is met and projects are completed within budget

• Client relationships:
 Follows process and strategic foundational documents to ensure client receives on-strategy, on brand work
 Presents and defends ideas/creative strategy in a diplomatic and compelling fashion
 Refers stakeholders back to creative briefs when developing and presenting content
