Job Description

Flex is a global medical device design and manufacture company; a division of Flex International, one of the world’s biggest EMS firms. We work with the world's leading healthcare and pharmaceutical companies, helping them create and bring to market successful medical devices that improve the life quality of users and patients around the world. With a team of more than 200 product development staff in Milan, we design & deliver ready-to-sell medical devices for our clients. Flex’s design operations are headquartered in Milan, Italy with manufacturing and design facilities in the USA, Austria, Mexico & China.

Industrial Designers in Flex handle the conceptualization and development of new products, handling all the aspects of the process: from early user research, through strategic ideation, form, function, aesthetics, to advanced physical and digital interfaces between users and products. They ultimately determine the complete user experience in critical medical applications using a user centric approach. All these activities are performed in total cooperation with our engineering group that covers mechanical, electronic and software engineering. You can read more about our approach to innovation at https://flex.com/intelligence.

We're now searching for a Mid-Level Industrial Designer who understands human behaviors, perceptions and overall interactions; a self-motivated individual who can research subjects and effectively synthesize his analysis; a creative mind who is not afraid of collaborating deeply with hard core engineering resources to make a product happen.

What we are looking for:

* You should be an outstanding Industrial Designer with a holistic approach that can deep dive into hard core Industrial Design, but can also easily navigate in User Experience, User Interface and User Research activities.
* 3-5 years of experience in an agency or in-house setting.
* Comprehensive set of skills that allow you to develop an idea, system or interaction through hand sketching, hand rendering, model making, 3D CAD modeling, digital rendering.
* Complimentary qualities: leadership traits, superb aesthetic sense, ability to develop world class form, sympathy towards users, positive attitude towards technical challenges and very open ended creative thinking.
* A strong portfolio that shows all the above is the first step in applying to our opportunity. Please ensure it demonstrates not only plenty of amazing final products but also your design thinking and development process.

If you recognize yourself in the above description please send your CV and digital portfolio (up to 5 Megs) to us, many thanks.
