About you

The fundamentals of good design are agnostic to the medium. While the bulk of work we do is for the screen, we prefer a candidate who is well rounded, and expect work that’s crafted with purpose and utility. The ability to communicate and articulate ideas is important, as this position requires regular presentation of work to both internal teams and clients.

Responsibilities of this role include being on our information gathering and discovery team, shaping our creative strategy, assembling mood boards, building wireframes, and working collaboratively with developers.

We're not looking for a Dribble superhero, but a person who looks at design holistically. A designer that uses their skills to solve real business problems, without being bound to a single aesthetic or trend.

Required skills

* 3 - 5 years of professional experience designing for the screen
* Ability to translate brand values, business/marketing goals, and demographic considerations into successful design solutions
* Know your way around screen design software (Sketch, Invision Studio, Marvel, etc.) and the Adobe Creative Suite
* An understanding of opportunities and limitations when designing for modern browsers and devices
* Fundamental knowledge of usability principles on the web
* The ability to articulate and present your design strategy and approach
* Comfortable communicating with client teams, leading discussions on design, and translating needs into solutions
* A positive, team-oriented attitude

Nice to have

* An interest in expertise building and contributing to the building of the company’s IP
* Willingness to apply unorthodox thinking into design and UXD processes (e.g. behavioral economics, HCI, heuristics, etc.)
* Ability to collaborate with our Digital Strategists to test, measure, iterate and use data to improve decisionmaking around design
* General familiarity with HTML and CSS (at the very least, a rudimentary understanding of how things work under the hood)
* Ability to write code and willingness to jump into the markup and make tweaks to type, layout, colors
* Experience building working prototypes in tools like Invision Studio or Marvell
* Contributing to the IA process using analytics data and best practices
* An active interest in photography and video production

Compensation

We offer competitive salaries and vacation policies commensurate to your experience, as well as a flexible schedule, extended health, dental, snacks, coffee, learning stipends, and equipment of your choice. Our office boasts a comfortable work environment with views of the water and mountains.
