Resume

Skills:
Art Direction, branding, advertising, graphic design, package design, Illustration, action sports, and sport culture trend consulting

Experience:
In the early days of her career she was laughed at by fellow design students when she told them she wanted to focus her design skills specifically on the skateboarding, surf and snow markets back in the mid eighties. 20 years later Judi is still creating graphic designs for some of the top action sports brands in the world. She started her own design business straight out of school with the encouragement from one of her graphic design instructors, Russell Leong. While working in the Santa Cruz Surf Shop and attending school, Judi was a buyer, surfboard airbrusher and in-house graphic designer she established life long relationships with many of the original founders in what was once called a niche industry. What started out as a few t-shirt and logo designs grew into a full fledged design firm.

After 8 busy years running her business and working 24/7, Judi put Maximum Impact Design on hold and went to work in-house as the art director for RockShox and then Giro Sport Design. She kept a few select clients and passed most of the excess work to talented design friends while working full-time for these larger companies. Over the past decade Judi worked on a host of packaging projects from the ground up working on structural design to final product, she enjoyed working on all the Lance Armstrong's Lonestar Series print work during his 7 year reign, and experienced many consumer product design projects she would never had been able to do on her own. All this experience has been great for Judi's own business. She has also added website design work to the mix and collaborates with a host of talented folks.

I was responsible for all graphics, van graphic wraps, advertising, website design and production, t-shirt designs and product stickers. For Giro bike and snow helmets, goggles and sunglasses, Blackburn, and Co-Pilot. I worked on all Giro graphics and print bringing in big name illustrators like Jimbo Phillips, Nathan Jurevicius, the Ames Bros. and Rian Hughes to give a new look to the kids helmet graphics, which led to more graphics throughout the bike and snow lines. Eventually I focused on only Giro printed materials, which included catalogs, packaging, trade show graphics, and point of purchase. I worked with product managers, communication managers and sales to get products and catalogs completed on time. I had the pleasure of working on many Lance Armstrong posters and packaging projects during his 7-year reign at the Tour de France. I am proud of all that I accomplished at Giro.
