Wonders of Xiaozhuan. Ink on white ricepaper. Zhuan font. September 2014. 1' x 2'. \\ Xiaozhuan is among the oldest fonts in Chinese language. The smooth and curvaceous lines in this piece are pictorial, with each character distinctly unique.

February 2014. 1 panel, extended. 2.5' x 4.5'. \\ A descriptive narrative about the flowers of plum trees being scattered about by the wind. The difficulty within this piece lies in the contrasting widths of strokes and the curves.

March 2011. 1 panel. 2.3' x 4.5'. \\ Poem details the sorrow and anger of the poet, who has been exiled to a foreign land. When he passes by the famous GuanQue Tower of China, he reminisces about his hometown.

April 2014. 1.15' x 2'. \\ This piece contains a Chinese proverb which translates to: The good rain knows just when to make the flowers bloom, the spring wind urges one million horses to gallop forward.

My brush and I: A series of works compiled from 2008 - 2015.

I'm in love with words, lines, ink, characters.

I am a Chinese calligrapher with over six years of experience in the fonts of Zhuan, Li, Kai, Xing, Cao. I train under Mr. Meichu Chang of the Antiquarian Club of Chinese Calligraphy, and have displayed my works at Silicon Valley Asian Art Center.

My background in Western art involves use of pencil, charcoal, pastels, and watercolors, and has prepared me well for my current focus on Chinese calligraphy.

Recently, my works received Gold in the 2015 All-American Calligraphy Competition as well as a Judge's Choice in the 2013 Taiwan National Calligraphy Competition.
