About
I am a seasoned product designer with a background in fashion-driven mass-produced consumer products and packaging. I have designed various products and packaging for companies such as Limited Brands, Costco, Walmart, Martha Stewart Home, Crate & Barrel, Restoration Hardware, Target and TSUM (largest department store in Russia)
I enjoy collaborating with buyers, manufacturers, engineers and company executives to develop product lines that fit essential criteria and cost constraints. I employ empathetic research to better understand real needs, and ultimately grow businesses by listening to users, iterating and testing prototypes.
At Stanford I have learned to use "design-thinking" which emphasizes empathy, rapid prototyping, and user testing to create meaningful products and services. Over the last two years I have developed medical devices that support human lactation, health-related mobile apps, and tools that promote family communication.
SInce I graduated in June '12, I have my own consultancy, JS Design Group Inc., focused on product design for the health and wellness industry. I enjoy working for both start-ups and established companies in this space.
