Freelance User Experience Lead & Strategist
I'm proud to say that I am no expert; my experience shows that I have done many different jobs, and played many roles. Where you might see someone who lacks focus or doesn't know what they want to do, what lies beneath is my desire to know more than one skill or one field. I gained experience in areas that would help me lead, plan and do; my goal, always, to know more and be capable of leading. I now have a breadth of skills that allows me to effectively build and lead a team of talented individuals in a wide range of digital projects.

At Infusion I worked to grow the Digital Agency group and specifically the UX practice by implementing processes and deliverables common with traditional digital agencies. As head of the North American UX practice I oversaw all projects and participated in most of them; including Build A Bear Workshop's Store of the Future, Samsung Mobile in-store touch experiences, Re/Max Canada's redesign, Adecco's global site redesign, touch and NUI interfaces for GE Energy, kiosks for JPMC at the US Open and multiple Windows 8 applications.
As a Sr. PM at HUGE I was responsible for managing multiple client facing projects, with PMs reporting to me. Projects included CNN's redesign, MasterCard's 2009 Holiday promotion, Pepsi's Refresh Everything campaign and the Refresh Everything campaign in for Pepsi Canada.
I worked for over a year at a client site in Chicago on a major consumer facing marketing website launch, that included complex user login workflows, interactive simulators and complex print at home coupon systems. During my time there I was required to perform multiple roles as the client needed them. I was trained to write business requirements, functional specs and also project manage a team comprised entirely of my client.
Proxicom (purchased by iCrossing in late 2007) had me working on more public focused web experiences, such as Toyota.com's 2007 redesign of which we won a JD Power award for user experience in a car comparison tool that I designed. I also had the opportunity to pitch and win the Vail Resorts Snow.com redesign.
Modem provided me the opportunity to really understand what user experience was, and helped me comprehend the process. While at Modem I worked with a team to imagine the future of Humana Healthcare's website with web 2.0 in mind, launch Subway's Fresh Fit campaign and redesign the interface for Royal Caribbean's travel agent booking system.
At Gartner I was afforded much flexibility; I was hired as a front-end developer, but through the 3 years that I worked there I did Flash animation and application development, XHTML, CSS, and visual design. I helped to redesign the client facing conference software, which lead to my interest in user experience.
