Whether I'm working on a page layout, a song, an ad, a press release or brochure copy ... I'm pretty much doing the same things: figuring out the heart of the message, then gathering and organizing words, images or notes to communicate that message. So, in simplest terms, being a "visual and written communications girl" means I'm a communicator and an organizer. My offerings to you are copywriting and graphic design. I also sing, but that's another story. Throughout my career, I have been lucky enough to experience a variety of professional settings including advertising, event planning, non-profit fundraising and the entertainment industry. I have written in each of these settings ... press communications, solicitation letters, sponsorship pitches, speaking points, radio script, web copy, ad copy, brochure copy, one-sheets, flyers, reports ... you name it. Graphic design came a little later in my career and I'm thankful for every save-the-date invite, program booklet, newsletter, magazine, ad, flyer, poster and promotional graphic I've ever had the opportunity to work on. I am a seasoned go-getter who comes to the table with a diverse skill set and adventurous career history including copywriting, graphic design, promotion, creative strategizing, project/event management and fundraising.
Currently, my focus is in three areas: Graphic Design, Copywriting and Music. In graphic design and copywriting, I am able to provide quality work with a fairly quick turnaround at a reasonable price. I especially enjoy providing service for artistic and charity-related projects.
As a singer/songwriter, I have had a number of song placements in film, television and radio spots and am available for collaborative songwriting projects for advertising or artistic purposes, session work and live performance. I work in a range of genres including rock, blues, folk, country and soul.
Managed and developed fundraising/development projects generating $1 - $1.5 Million annually. Produced and managed major online auction programs. Prepared copy for press communications, web, special reports and general marketing/advertising. Prepared sponsorship decks and project pitches. Handled celebrity, donor, and sponsor/partner relations.
Handled planning and execution of promotional, holiday and client events. Managed all administrative operations. Responsible for creating standardized procedures and for automating what had once been archaic systems. Served as a liaison between staff and clients as well as between the proprietor and vendors. Worked with designers and printers to develop identification kit, ads and specialized promotional materials.
Wrote copy for print, outdoor and transit advertising campaigns as well as radio and television ad/PSA script. Created and distributed press releases/media alerts. Worked closely with the design team to develop creative concept for client campaigns including The Pittsburgh Opera, Family Health Council, Major League Baseball, McCormack Baron, and WQED/Family Communications. Assisted Senior Account Executive with account management and the development of marketing plans.
