Comic Line-work - I took panels from various comic strips and made them into a collage. Then, I redrew the line-work on a larger Bristol paper. This made me appreciate the amount of work comic line-work artists need to put in to produce such precise and detailed art.

Despite the amount of work, though, this was one of the funnest pieces I've worked on that year.

Otherworld - A self-portrait drawn with white colored pencil on black paper. This piece won me a place in the national Scholastic Art and Writing competition.

This was challenging since I had to reverse my usual process for shading (coloring in the lights instead of the shadows).

Tears - Black India Ink on Bristol board. i actually really enjoyed working with watery ink since it provides for more flexibility and flow.

Hectic Skies - light - The first picture of an opposites series, this represents the light aspect. Done in acrylic paint. The inked outline was added after the paint.
Full Size (highres_width x highres_height)
Hectic Skies - dark - The first picture of an opposites series, this represents the dark aspect. Done in acrylic paint. The inked outline was added after the paint.

The paint didn't turn out as smooth as I would've liked, but it has the right feeling.

One at a Time - Done in Prismacolor pencils. This piece was submitted for the Coca Cola Art of Harmony contest and won third in district. I had my sister pose for me to use as reference.

They kept the piece and, unfortunately, this was the best picture I was able to take of it at the time.
Full Size (highres_width x highres_height)
Unassuming Puppet - Done in black Prismacolor pencil. This piece was chosen to be displayed at a mentor show.

I only have a picture of it on display since I gave the actual piece to a friend who was moving away before taking a proper picture of it.
