This version has two servos with a caster wheel in the front
First prototype from ABS plastic, cut using bandsaw, and here heating joints to bend
The ABS plastic was hard to bend precisely so I switched over to sheet metal

A scissor lift to be located behind my picker arm to hold the flags. The scissor lift has a vertical edge to keep the flags from falling out when the robot is on the slope
I design the top bars of the lift to be asymmetrical so when fully extended, the tray will tip downward, dispensing the flags into the bottom chalet

Bottom Angles brackets machined on the CNC Mill, the slot allows for movement of the bottom rod, and the bottom face will attach the module to the final robot body

I will actuate the scissor lift by pre-loading the rods with springs and then rotating a cam on a servo directly underneath the bottom center rod

MIT 2.007 MITSKI Robot Competition

Spring 2013: MIT 2.007 Design and Manufacturing 1 project where we design and fabricate our own individual robots to perform specific tasks. The theme being Skiing this year in honor of the winter olympics, our robots need to be able to ascend/descend steep slopes (up to 60 degrees), collect flags embedded into the slope surface and deposit then into a chalet at the base, obtain medals from raised pedestals, and pull a heavy pendulum for a score multiplier. Should be a fun semester of designing and building!
