A crafted DJ console should be more like a piece of furniture than a piece of luggage: We kept that in mind while designing this case for Dart’s standard kit of equipment. We drew inspiration from traditions of fine musical instrument cases, the craft of marquetry, and the style of mid-century modern furniture, as well as our own interest in the optical illusions created when things aren’t square, and volumes are shifted in their containers. The case itself is an exercise in compactness, and fitting parts into a whole in interesting and functional ways, as well as protecting and presenting the equipment of a DJ, not as a collection of cables and electronics but as instruments deserving of a fitted and beautiful case.
