Exhibit Design
Mystique - For this project I was asked to research a chosen type of music, Belly Dancing, and then design a center for the appreciation of this style. I was required to have a performance space, a history wall, and a space for the reading, listening, and storage of books and CD’s. Furthermore, I needed to name the center and create a logo/image. During my research, I was fascinated by the mysterious nature of the small villages through their architecture and culture, which inevitably inspired my design and logo.
Retail Design - Blue Marlin is an alternative retail store which sells primarily “street wear” such as, jerseys, baseball caps, and duffle bags. My partner and I were asked to design a retail store, logo, and fixtures that would reflect this culture. We decided to look at old subway systems where evidence of this culture is prevelent. We designed the space in a very literal way by splitting the space into “platform” and “subway car,” which penetrates the facade.
