Summary of Thesis, A Place to Grieve - The thesis goal was to link the design process with the grieving process to explore the range of emotion caused by grief and how that emotion correlates with space. The design process incorporates research on the Kubler-Ross grieving stages, selective imagery of places people grieve, and a qualitative and quantitative analysis of architecturally defined sacred spaces. The culmination of this process materialized as a series of large charcoal drawings based on the stages of grief.
