Designed for use in cases of emergence due to its ease of construct and involving simple and recyclable materials, the shoes are easily manufactured by both handmade processes and even industrial processes like Computer Numeric Control / CNC.

The cut patterns are easily joined together by the use of three hook and loop pads (Velcro).

The model’s die cut patterns are made of ‘Spun Bound Laminated’ fabric. By joining layer above layer, the structure and resistance of the models are possible.
The layers are covered by ‘Tredaire (brown) paper’ and ‘Blacy Polymer Film’, creating a sturdy structure that may be subject to processes like Screen Printing, creating different customizations patterns. Use of shoe glue.

Soles made of Scott & Fyfe felted fiberglass, providing good flexibility and comfort for the foot. Fiber Glass coated with ‘Spun Bound Laminated’ fabric and Tredaire (brown) paper’ or ‘Blacy Polymer Film.

Outsole constituted of conventional soles found on the market, made of silicone or wood. The intent is to provide a solid base for the footwear made with Scott & Fyfe’s materials.
For a more ergonomic product, we chose a sole with a small high heel on its back.
As a suggestion, flexible soles can be produced using Duralay Heatflow Rubber.

Techniques such as stitching is not necessary, since the aim of this project is to obtain a simple footwear in its form and construction. The use of conventional adhesives / glues, widely used in the shoe industry, perfectly replacing the seam, results in a clean finish.

The fabric used can also be submitted by waterproofing processes, such as the use of DWR (Durable Water Repellent) and Rainoff (a silicon resin emulsion product).
