DRAW UP A CHAIR - The Battery Conservancy Americas Design Competition 2012
The proposal consists on a chair that work as a whole taking the rock texture as an integral part of the design. The proyect was designed to be the most beautifull , colorfull and envioremental friendly chair designed taking as a reference the principles and criteria of the competition
The chair is versatile in function matters, that allow user interaction in various ways, creating spaces together. They work well as a whole and separately. It is completely grass lawn friendly, because of it´s small area of ground support. Besides the chairs are designed to be manufactured under the rotational molding process and PEAD plastic with nylon reinforcement for exterior and use matters .
We wanted the least processes associated to the manufacturing, flexible manufacturing was one of the main premises in our designs, that’s why there is no paint, or complex assembly.

ROOTS- DrawUp A Chair design competition Battery Park NYC

New York is a city with an infinite number of stories to tell, it is an example of strength and importance and Battery Park has been the cradle of many of these stories, which is why we were inspired by the origins of the battery when it was a fort to defend new amsterdam from his enemies and represent that strength with a monolith and rock texture.
