My name is Jason McGinnity. I was born in Santa Monica and grew up in Los Angeles and Vancouver, Washington.

I am a multidisciplinary designer with a background in product and transportation design. I grew up traveling, playing competitive sports, and working customer service and sales jobs. I used those experiences as a platform for learning about people, the way they interact with others, and how they rationalize the purchases that they make.

I thrive in fast-paced and competitive environments. I'm a natural leader and strive to be a catalyst for pulling interdisciplinary teams closer together inside and outside the studio to create meaningful and beautiful design solutions.

I believe people and proportion are the key ingredients to meaningful, lasting design. I love studying people and the products they use. I am quick to establish insights into user behavior and pride myself on my eye for proportion and detail.

After all, "The details are not the details. They make the design." - Charles Eames

I am extremely passionate about design and have been very fortunate to be surrounded by great designers and mentors throughout my time at Art Center College of Design. I recently finished interning and completing a sponsored thesis at Tesla Motors in Hawthorne, California.

I graduated with a B.S. in Transportation Design from Art Center in August 2015.

Outside the studio I enjoy cycling, craft beer, coffee, traveling, and being surrounded by great people.

    Thanks for visiting.

    • Customer Experience Supervisor/Brand Logistics Supervisor
      Gap Inc.
      2007 - 2009 (2 years)
I began at Gap as a sales associate and moved up to a supervisory role as the Brand Logistics Expert and eventually the Customer Experience Expert. I handled day to day operations under the leadership of my excellent store manager and supervised a team of about 10 employees during day to day activities. As the Brand Logistics Expert I focused on the inflow of new merchandise and marketing materials. As the Customer Experience Expert I focused on leading the team of sales associates on the floor to provide the best customer service possible as well as handling opening and closing procedures, including cash handling.

Shortly before leaving Gap Inc I was one of a handful of employees chosen from my district to help in the development of a standardized new hire training program for the Portland, Oregon area.

I pride myself on my customer service, and I love working with people. I was consistently mentioned by name in customer surveys for more than 12 months straight; that is still one of my proudest achievements while working at Gap Inc.
