Gallery Coordinator / Board Member
Makervillage
Rome, GA
Jul 2016 - Present (7 years 9 months)
Makervillage is a 13,000 sq ft co-work non-profit in downtown Rome, where creatives, techies, start-up companies, and the community come together for work and for play. Being a SCAD alumna, a graphic designer, and an active participant within the Rome and Atlanta art scenes, this volunteer role is a natural fit. Within a year of becoming a board member, I was also tapped to be the Gallery Coordinator, a volunteer position to oversee the Makervillage art gallery and bring in the work of local artists. I work with several community groups, individual artists, and non-profits to bring craft nights, art exhibits, and workshops to our space. As a Board Member, I also help our fellow co-work members and start-ups with day-to-day questions and needs around the Makervillage space. Notably, I've played big roles in the planning and organization of our Redmond Art Garden project (2017-2018), the screening event of "Dream, Girl" (2017), and working to bring start-up companies to join our facility.
