Description

I started by creating a parametric 3D model in SolidWorks. Then I saved the parts' outlines to .dxf format. I made graphics for it in POV-Ray, and vectorized them and combined them with the cut lines. I created some vector line art to add a few finishing touches and turn a scrap piece into a decorated coaster. The prototype fit too loosely, so I simply changed the kerf variable, and had another made. Now I have the perfect pencil holder for my desk, and can sell it to others through Ponoko.
