This striking accent light was inspired by a lighthouse. I visited California’s Point Sur lighthouse and was captivated by its 9-foot Fresnel lens. Such crystal lenses are giant prisms that surround a lighthouse’s lamp and focus its light into beams that can be seen for miles.

To adapt the design of a Fresnel lens for the modern home, I adjusted its scale, smoothed the edges, and gave it a gentle texture and finish. The result is a stunning, bright, and beautiful conversation piece that’s perfect for a bedroom, living room, or hallway.
