VW BlueSport (SportBase Concept) - During my time at VW DCP, I was lucky enough to briefly work on this project: helping Christian Felske to develop his initial exterior sketch into an Alias 3D model for 1/4 scale clay milling. His proposal was selected, and became the VW BlueSport.

Although the final design is the product of MANY vastly talented people, a lot of subsequent hard work and literally thousands of hours refinement and development - it was nice to be there at the start of the journey.

VW DCP Aerocoupe - I worked as part of the multi-discipline Alias, Clay, hard-modelling and RTT Visualisation team to bring this student project to completion - refined in clay and Alias prior to production of physical hard-model.

Original concept by Woosun Chung (placement student), extensive design development and refinement by DCP's in-house team.

1 Liter - Wheeltrims - Very minor claim to fame - but these wheeltrims started out their life on a different project I worked on whilst with VW. I produced the original Alias CAD model for a design proposal made by Daniel Scarfschwerde.

Bloodhound SSC - 3 year project to push the boundaries of engineering and result in three world record attempts by 2011. It coincides with a national drive to boost awareness of career opportunities made possible via engineering.

My responsibility: bodyshell design surface development, working in conjunction with engineering and aerodynamics specialists.

DeTomaso 2010 - The De Tomaso Ghepardo is a modern four door fuel cell super car with a surface treatment inspired by the legendary De Tomasos of the 60s and 70s and designed for the near future.

Frederik Tjellesen developed the concept, design and 1/4 scale clay - from which I
then developed the CAD data used to mill the final presentation model.

Triumph TT 600R Daytona - I was a small piece of the jigsaw puzzle which made this design possible. I provided A-surface Alias CAD definition for the bodyshell based on the scanned clay data, and also devised preliminary graphics . . . before they finally decided on a proper product name.

DELTA - 2nd year University project. (1994)

Produced from skinned styrofoam, this design for a kids first bicycle focussed on safety and ease of use. Drive was via internal belt rather than external chain, following research into common childhood cycling injuries.

LT312 Bodywork (1994) - Redesign of existing steel bodywork in GRP to reduce part count, manufacturing cost and halve service down-time.

From first sketch to master pattern sign-off in 12 weeks - a fairly impressive feat for an undergraduate working without any other Industrial Design support...

ITINO - I worked as part of a small international design team assembled in Berlin for 6 months, developing our next generation regional shuttle train platform.

This is perhaps the most fun I've yet had as a designer, and the interior work we did is amongst my all-time favourites.

I love the purity and simplicity of the end result, which was a labour of love and passion for all of us. Good times, great memories.
