Founder and creative originator of ThomasRaymond&Co. | Hemingway Footwear, a high-end men’s handcrafted footwear brand inspired by the American icon, Ernest Hemingway. Through brand positioning, product design, strategic market development and planned execution, start-up capital financing was retained with in a 12-month period. Along with strong personal/professional relationships in manufacturing, development, and sourcing supply chains in Latin America, Brazil, Mexico, and India, product was manufactured to the highest standards of quality and detail. National specialty retailers, high end sporting catalogs, and regional men’s boutiques were targeted to promote the Hemingway persona and brand direction. The launch of the brand in June 2010 garnered national media attention, including the likes of GQ, Esquire, The New York Times, The New Yorker, as well as multiple men’s trend blogs.
Directed and managed the footwear design staff through all elements of the product design process, while responsible for advanced concept creation/integrity, market trend forecasting, and development initiatives for the Sole Technology brands: Etnies Men’s and Women’s, Es’ Footwear, Emerica Footwear, 32 Snowboard Boots, and Etnies Sandals.
Created/designed all categories of DC footwear. Worked directly with senior management, senior designers, and developers in creating advanced concepts for market introductions, as well as played key role in establishing the company’s working process of design creation, design review, and product materializations based around current trends and key color merchandising indicators.
Directed and managed the design direction of product lines, creative direction for Marketing/Advertising, and footwear development process. Re-established the brand identity of Trotters Footwear line while establishing a trend forward image for the established consumer. Created new brand visuals and marketing/advertising collateral to introduce the New Trotters Footwear. Directed development of product lines and managed development staff in Novo Hamburgo, Brazil.
