This QA forum was my first project at Moz. It went from concept to launch within four months. I did all UX for the original product, organized and ran a beta program to collect user feedback, managed the engineering team, and set up a data collection process for success measurement. This was in the early days of Moz where I was required to wear many hats. It was fun!
I developed a number of recommendations aimed at encouraging community members to participate in the community. For example, they received MozPoints for answering brand new questions (thereby encouraging new users to continue use), answering unanswered questions (to make sure everyone got their questions looked at), and giving particularly good answers (staff members could endorse questions to give points, and up-votes by community members gave points as well). The project was very successful and usage was higher than expected in the first two months. It continues to be a great source of organic traffic for Moz.
