Azul Sagrado

2013
Collection of three hanging pots handmade in clay and decorated with Huichol handcraft.

This collection has the purpose of raising Huichol culture in our daily life by representing their beliefs.
Huichol culture is one of the principal ancient cultures in Mexico, in which blue represents the holiest; their most important gods are the corn (the center of Mexican food), peyote (the way Huichol people communicate with gods) and the deer (god that allowed life on earth).
It was showed in “London Design Festival 2013”, London, England.

Designed by Miriam Sánchez in collaboration with the master craftmen Maurilio Rentería, Rafael González and Anselmo González.
