As a member of the Award-Winning Personal Navigation Device team, main duties include market research, brainstorming sessions, conceptual ideation sketching and storyboarding, as well as extensive 3D modeling for rapid prototyping of concepts. A wide variety of projects has provided several wide-ranging opportunities for innovation in a crowded, competitive Consumer Electronics market.

Assisted in the development of a variety of products, including a stylish, innovative line of spray-mops, high-end grill thermometers, and a high-end custom shower system. Work included market research, developing concept sketches and participating in brainstorming sessions with the design team.

As part of a multi-disciplinary team of designers, architects and engineers, personal focus is on developing conceptual sketches and renderings, foam core mock-ups and completion of final concept presentations. In order to arrive at fully realized concepts, “spitball” Brainstorming sessions are carried out at multiple phases of the design process with Senior Design Staff to explore all possible directions.

Time was spent assisting Senior Design staff in the development of a consumer product from concept phase to final realization including sketches, renderings and presentations. A personal project was also explored, utilizing all resources available at Motorola.

As sole industrial designer of this start-up company, I developed CAD drawings to spec, as well as introduced new visualization software (Rhino) into the companies portfolio.
